《Vogue》的创作灵感来自纽约同性恋迪斯科舞厅中一种名叫“Voguing”的舞蹈。当时，麦当娜·西科尼正和朋友坐在舞厅里，看着舞台上的一群人在跳着这种舞蹈。随着一声声的“摆个姿势（Strike a Pose）”，跳舞的人就要定格摆出一个一个的造型。麦当娜着迷于这种舞蹈，并受到其启发。随后，她便联系制作人谢普·佩蒂伯恩与她一同创作这首歌曲。
